Dark fantasy Netflix series Shadow and Bone follows Alina Starkov, a young cartographer living in a war-torn world who uncovers her own extraordinary powers. She fights to free her world from a dark force known as the Shadow Fold and the flesh-eating creatures known as the Volcra who spread terror across the land.

The steampunk meets Imperial Russian series first landed on Netflix in April 2021, and has been watched by an estimated 55 million households worldwide. The show stars Last Night in Soho actor Jessie Mei Li in the lead role, as well as The Punisher’s Ben Barnes, Morbius actor Archie Renaux, and Free Rein’s Freddy Carter.

The Netflix synopsis for the second season reads: "Alina Starkov is on the run. A beacon of hope to some and a suspected traitor to others, she’s determined to bring down the Shadow Fold and save Ravka from ruin.
