Who is Stanley Tucci?

Stanley Tucci is an American actor best known for his roles in The Devil Wears Prada, The Hunger Games and Easy A.

He has won four Emmy Awards and has been nominated for a Tony Award.

Tucci is originally from New York and currently lives in London.

Who is Stanley Tucci’s wife, Felicity Blunt?

Tucci is currently married to Felicity Blunt after they tied the knot in 2012.

Felicity is the sister of actress Emily Blunt who co-starred with Stanley in The Devil Wears Prada.

Emily introduced the pair at her wedding, and they hit it off so well that they got married.

Tucci was previously married to Kathyrn Spath (AKA Kate Tucci) who died of breast cancer in 2009.

Stanley Tucci has five children - three to his first wife Kate and two with his current partner Felicity.

The family is made up of twins Isabel and Nico (both 22) then in age order Camilla(20), Matteo (seven) and Emilia (three).

There is a large age gap between the siblings as the eldest twins are 22 years old and Emilia is just three years old.

What is Searching for Italy about?

Tucci travels to various regions of Italy and explores the rich history of food.

He explores the tradition of pizza in Naples, tastes wine in Sicily and samples parmigiano from Bologna.

The food-focussed show also sees the actor travel to the Amalfi Coast, Tuscany, Milan and Rome.

On his travels he meets Italian chefs who teach him a thing or two about traditional and modern staples in Italian cuisine.

Tucci has a passion for Italy because he lived in the country for a year when he was a child.

His father, a teacher, took the whole family to Tuscany so that he could further his career in Europe.

The series shows Tucci reconnecting with the nation through food and his childhood memories.

When shooting Searching for Italy Stanley learnt Italian and is now fluent in the language.

Stanley has written two cookbooks himself so he is no novice in the kitchen - they are titled ‘The Tucci Cookbook’ (2012) and ‘The Tucci Table: Cooking with Family and Friends’ (2014).

His knowledge of food  is reflected in the show as he often gets his hands dirty in the kitchen.

When is Searching for Italy on TV?

Episode two of Searching for Italy is on BBC Two at 7.15pm on Sunday 6 March 2022.

All six episodes of Searching for Italy are available to watch on BBC IPlayer.

Each episode is around 40 minutes long.

Will there be a season two of Searching for Italy?

Fans of the show will be disappointed to hear that they are not getting a second helping of the TV series just yet.

On Instagram Stanley wrote: “Due to the situation in Ukraine, season two of Searching for Italy will be delayed.”
