Sweet Magnolias is ready to delight audiences once again.

The romantic drama, which premiered on Netflix in May 2020, is hitting our TV screens once again.

Based on the series of book by Sheryl Wood, the show will continue to follow three childhood friends as they navigate motherhood and relationships.

But what will series two be about, when can you watch it and who is in the cast?

What is Sweet Magnolias about?

Sweet Magnolias follow best friends Helen, Maddie and Dana Sue who were all born and raised in quaint southern town Serenity, located in South Carolina.

The town is small and everyone knows everyone else’s business.

The three main character help each other as they go through different trials in love, family and career, with a Margarita Night every so often to help them.

What will happen in Sweet Magnolia Season 2?

After a huge cliffhanger at the end of series one, fans were clamouring for more Sweet Magnolias content.

The second series will pick up from the first, with Maddie, Helen and Dana Sue finding out just who is in the car.

Throughout the series, the fallout from prom night continues - friendships are tested, jobs are threatened and love is questioned.

The girls must come together to fight for themselves and each other as series two promises to throw some more drama into the mix.

Who is in the Sweet Magnolias cast?

The cast is headed by three talented actresses.

JoAnna Garcia Swisher stars as Maddie Townsend, Brooke Elliott stars as Dana Sue Sullivan and Heather Headley stars as Helen Decatur.

The show also stars some familiar faces in the main cast.

American Pie’s Chris Klein stars as Bill Townsend, Maddie’s ex-husband, with Jamie Lynn Spears also appearing as Bill’s fiance Noreen Fitzgibbons.

Justin Bruening stars as Cal Maddox, a baseball coach of Maddie’s son Ty and a new love interest for Maddie herself.

Ty Townsend is played by Carson Rowland, with his onscreen sibling Kyle being played by Logan Allen.

Dana Sue’s daughter Annie is played by Anneliese Judge.

When is Sweet Magnolias season 2 released and where can I watch it?

The series will be released on Friday 4 February.

The entire series will drop on Netflix at 8am UK time.

It will be only available to watch on Netflix, with the first series also still available to watch on the streaming service.
