Fans of ITV’s raincoat-wearing, witty-yet-questionable detective, Vera, have enjoyed the return of the crime drama to their screens.
Actress Brenda Blethyn returned for a brief two episodes August 2021, but the show’s 7 million viewers were left on a cliff edge as the rest of the series was delayed until recently.
The series was originally scheduled to air in 2020 but was delayed due to coronavirus restrictions, with Blethyn admitting a 12th series will largely depend on if restrictions remain eased.
As well as Blethyn, a few new faces will appear in the 11th series. Here is everything you need to know about the latest series and when the episodes are on TV.

In episode 4, set to air on January 16, Vera investigates the case of a teacher, who is found on a remote part of the coastline. “She had made what is thought to be an exaggerated claim to social services about child protection. So we have all sorts of suspects rearing their heads,” Blethyn said.
