and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
Here’s your guide to what’s on television on Monday 8 April, from the latest installment of Travel Man, an arts documentary, and a comic book movie.
I’ve highlighted a top pick for the evening, as well as suggested a streaming boxset to check out on All4 if nothing on normal television catches your eye tonight. There’s also a quick look ahead at what to keep an eye out for over the weekend as well.

Hide AdThis week, Joe Lycett takes Aisling Bea (soon to be seen in Chivalry with Steve Coogan) to Split, a city in Croatia. Bea previously went to Budapest with Richard Ayoade while he was host, and I think she’s very funny generally, so one to check out if you enjoy her comedy in particular or these travel shows generally.
Best of the Rest

Surviving the Cost of Living Crisis
BBC One @ 8pm
Panorama takes a look at the ongoing cost of living crisis, focusing specifically on the experiences of three families trying to adapt to the new normal. Whether this piece of journalism will then take it a step further and explain the connection between these material realities and the decade of Conservative policies that ushered them in is another question, but you know, still.
The Art of Architecture Series 3
Sky Arts @ 8pm / On demand with NOW TV
This documentary series returns for another look at the artistic influences behind the architecture of some of the world’s most famous buildings. Monday’s episode looks at the Narbo Via of Narbonne in France, which was designed by Norman Foster.
The Fall of the House of Maxwell
BBC Two @ 9pm
The second episode of the Robert Maxwell documentary airs tonight, taking a deeper look at the circumstances of Maxwell’s mysterious death at sea.
Worlds Collide: The Manchester Bombing

What’s new on Netflix today?

Joker (2019)
Joaquin Phoenix won an Oscar for his role in this Batman-adjacent crime drama riffing on Martin Scorsese movies. (It’s fine.)

This Way Up
All4
In keeping with the Aisling Bea-ish theme established by Travel Man, why not check out a look at This Way Up on All4? Occasionally compared to Fleabag (which is admittedly a little reductive, but maybe helpful in conveying a very broad impression), it’s a funny and smart piece about a EFL teacher in London, recovering from a recent breakdown. Sharon Horgan stars as Bea’s sister, and Tobias Menzies as her love interest.
