Willow cast 2022: who stars in Disney+ series with Warwick Davis, Annabelle Davis, and Joanne Whalley?

Willow is a new Disney+ eight-part series set 20 years after the classic 1988 fantasy film and starring two of its main cast. After defeating the evil Queen Bavmorda, the mythical realm settled into a relative peace, but now dark forces are circling again and Willow is once more called upon to help save the world.

He sets off with a band of misfit adventurers to find a kidnapped child and defeat the forces of evil once more. Meanwhile, Elora Danan, the baby he rescued two decades ago has grown up and may hold the key to saving their world from annihilation, but her identity has been kept so secret that even she doesn’t know who she truly is.

Warwick Davis as Willow Ufgood

Willow is the titular hero of the series, and was also the main protagonist in the 1988 film of the same name. Willow undertakes a new quest as the leader of a band of misfits that will take them far from their home. Davis is best known for his roles in the Harry Potter franchise, where he played three characters, a goblin bank clerk, Professor Flitwick, and Griphook. He has also had minor roles in several Star Wars films, often playing an Ewok.

Joanne Whalley as Sorsha

Sorsha, who was also played by Whalley in the movie, calls upon Willow for help in the series when the realm is attacked by dark forces. She sends Willow on his quest along with her own daughter, Kit. Whalley is known for playing Sister Maggie in the Marvel series Daredevil, and Katherine of Aragon in BBC historical drama Wolf Hall. She also featured in the drama shows A.D. The Bible Continues, and The Borgias.

Ruby Cruz as Kit Tanthalos

Kit is Sorsha’s daughter with Madmartigan, (Madmartigan was played by Val Kilmer in the film but he was unable to return for the series) she joins Willow as they search for her missing twin. Cruz had small roles in the Stephen King series Castle Rock and police procedural drama Blue Bloods. She also played Jess Riley in the HBO crime drama Mare of Easttown.

Annabelle Davis as Mims Ufgood

Mims is Willow’s daughter, she stays behind at the village when her father sets out with Kit. Annabelle is Warwick’s daughter in real life - he met her mother Samantha on the set of the Willow movie. Annabelle has had small roles in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, and Jack the Giant Slayer - she also played Sasha Bellman in Tracy Beaker spin-off series The Dumping Ground.

Dempsey Bryk as Airk Tanthalos

Airk is Kit’s twin, and when he is abducted at the start of the series, it spurs his sister and Willow into action as they set out to find him. Bryk has featured in family drama series Heartland, playing Wyatt McMurty. He also played Thurston Polk in fantasy drama series The Birch, and Caleb Browning in crime mystery series Coroner.

Amar Chadha-Patel as Thraxus Boorman

Boorman is an adventurer and criminal who learned his skills from Mamartigan - he joins Willow and Kit in their quest. Chadha-Patel had small roles in comedy series The Windsors and Netflix comedy drama Sex Education. He also played Preacher in the drama mystery The Third Day and Lord Yakota in fantasy series The Wheel of Time.

Erin Kellyman as Jade Claymore

Jade is an excellent knight and Kit’s friend and mentor, who also joins the group on their journey in search of Airk. She played Eponine in the Les Misérables TV series, and appeared in the films Solo: A Star Wars Story, and The Green Knight. She played Karli Morgenthau in Marvel’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Pebbles in drama series Top Boy.

Ellie Bamber as Dove

Dove works at the castle kitchen, but is also Airk’s lover, so when he is taken she decides to join the team and set out to find him. Bamber’s previous appearances include roles in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Nocturnal Animals, and The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. She also played Angela Knippenberg in thriller series The Serpent, and Mandy Rice-Davies in The Trial of Christine Keeler.

Tony Revolori as Graydon Hastur

Gradyson is a prince that Kit is expected to marry, though he’s not really her time and he gets pulled into the quest rather reluctantly. Revolori played Flash in the latest Spider-Man trilogy, Zero, in The Grand Budapest Hotel, and Rosenthaler in The French Dispatch. He also played Tobe in the horror mystery series Servant.
