The series is set in the Alps, on the France-German border, in a fictional small university town called Guernon.
An old fashioned police detective, Commissioner Pierre Niemans (Olivier Marchal), is transferred to head the Central Office Against Crimes of Blood (OCCS).
The commissioner partners up with his best former student, Lieutenant Camille Delaunay (Erika Sainte), who he treats like a daughter.
They work together to solve complex murder cases, that local police departments can’t always understand due to the level of brutality.
