“As we approach the new year many people are using this time to reset and commit to a healthier lifestyle. It’s important to start with realistic and actionable steps”
Be Specific and Set Measurable Goals
“It is easy to give yourself unrealistic goals and expectations. Start by defining exactly what you want to achieve, for example, running 5km in under 30 minutes is achievable yet challenging. Metrics such as metres run, and time spent exercising make your goals achievable based on your current fitness level and lifestyle.”
Track progress
“There are a variety of apps, journals and fitness trackers that you can use to monitor your improvements and stay motivated through the setbacks. Everyone is on their own fitness journey.”
Celebrate Milestones and Consistency
