People have joked that ITV producers tend to ‘copy and paste’ the contestants for Love Island each year based on their looks, personalities or names - for example, there have been several Molly’s on the reality show since Molly-Mae Hague.

However, while this year’s contestant Molly Marsh may share the first name as the 2019 runner-up and mum of one, they also seemingly share a similar dating history…

Fans have been left confused as a video Molly Marsh posted on TikTok in May 2020 has resurfaced in which she claims that she once dated former islander and boxer Tommy Fury.

Nodding along to the music, Molly Marsh answered ‘yeah’ to statements that appeared on screen such as ‘you dated Tommy Fury before he went on Love Island’ and ‘you and Molly Mae are good friends now’.

Although comments have been turned off on the video, fans took to Twitter to share their opinions including, ‘maybe she is the next Molly-Mae’ and ‘he must have a type’.

Tommy matched up with Molly-Mae on the fifth season and has since gone on to not only welcome their first child Bambi together but also become one of the show’s most successful couples.

The connection between Molly Marsh and Tommy Fury comes after further reports that the 2023 islander has grown close to previous contestants who have gone on to become influencers post-Love Island.

A source suggested that Molly Marsh, the daughter of Corrie actress, was texting fellow Love Island nepo baby Jack Keating and that ‘there was a real spark when it first began, it was flirty banter.’

Considering Molly Marsh was selected by producers to enter this year’s villa after doing promotional work for the winter series with ITV in January, it should come as no surprise that Molly is well integrated with the Love Island family, however is the Molly squared and Tommy love triangle a little too close to home? And where does that leave me, another blonde-haired Molly?
