Taylor Swift announces album, is she wearing new orange lipstick, what does the colour mean, can you buy it?

To celebrate the announcement of Taylor Swift’s new album,The Life of a Showgirl, the Empire State Building in New York was illuminated with orange lights.
Swifties be prepared to transform your wardrobe into all things orange as this appears to be the new colour direction for Taylor Swift. With the help of her long time boyfriend Travis Kelc and his brother Jason Kelce, Taylor Swift revealed the name of her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, on his New Heights podcast.
Taylor Swift says, “Can I show you something?" and Jason Kelce then replies:
"Okay. What do we got? We got a briefcase? Mint green, with T.S. on it." When Jason then asks "What's in it?" Taylor reveals that "This is my brand new album, The Life of a Showgirl.”
Taylor Swift’s boyfriend Travis then cheers and says: "TS 12!"
Before the announcement of Taylor Swift’s new album was made, a series of images of Taylor Swift wearing orange were shared on her Instagram page with the caption: “Thinking about when she said “See you next era…”
In response, one fan wrote: “Orange is so back,” whilst another said: “Orange!!!” followed by 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡.”
The colour orange played a big part in Taylor Swift Era's tour, she wore a Versace burnt orange bodysuit and sequined blazer and seems to have swapped her customary red lipstick for more of an orange hue.
When it comes to why Taylor Swift has chosen the colour orange, it is thought that it might be because the colour is a mix of Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs uniform colours which are red and yellow.
According to the website, VeryWellMind, the colour “calls to mind feelings of enthusiasm and excitement.” It also describes orange as the “colour of bright sunsets and fruits like oranges and tangerines, so many people might associate the color with the beauty of the setting sun or the refreshing taste of citrus.”

However, in the last year or so Taylor Swift seems to have moved on from red lipsticks to more of a brown/orange tone and in October 2024, Lorrie Turk, Taylor’s make-up artist took to her Instagram stories to reveal the lipstick that Taylor Swift had been wearing recently.
Lorrie Turk shared a photo of Taylor Swift and then said: It’s NARS Morocco Lipstick and then revealed that “She’s worn it for years.” The Morocco Lipstick which is a warm cinnamon shade, is currently out of stock on the Cult Beauty and NARS website, but you can put in your email and will be notified when and if it comes back into stock. It could be the NARS Morocco Lipstick mixed with Pat McGrath Dramatique Mega Lip Pencil - Nude Oasis, £27, Cult Beauty, or it could be a new lipstick shade that has been created specifically for Taylor Swift.
