Kate Middleton certainly seems to have a penchant for the colour burgundy. She was photographed today in a Roland Mouret burgundy trouser suit at Hampton Court Palace where she went to meet wheelchair rugby players

Roland Mouret is a favourite designer choice for Kate and one of my favourite Mouret choices of hers to date has to be the black and white stretch-cady gown she wore to the premiere of Top Gun: Maverick in 2022.

When it comes to the colour burgundy, Kate Middleton wore a custom coat dress in this colour to the royal Christmas carol service at Westminster. Kate made sure her daughter Charlotte colour coordinated with her as she wore a £160 burgundy coat from Trotters.

Prince William also made sure he made a nod to burgundy when it came to his outfit as he wore a navy suit with a burgundy tie. Other Royals who were in attendance who wore burgundy included Kate’s sister Pippa Middleton and Zara Tindall.

If you think the colour burgundy is just reserved for the royal family, think again. It appears the colour is also popular in the celebrity world too. Actor Andrew Garfield wore a dark burgundy YSL suit to The Oscars 2022.

Although the likes of Kate Middleton, Pippa Middleton, Zara Tindall and Andrew Garfield have all shown how burgundy is on trend, one thing I can definitely guarantee is that I won’t be wearing the colour anytime soon.

The reason for my hesitancy is not because I don’t like embracing fashion trends. On the contrary, I am obsessed with fashion and trends (when I find them relevant to me), but I can never wear burgundy.

Why? The simple reason is that it was the colour of my school uniform for nine years. Since the day I left school, I can’t wear anything in burgundy/maroon.

Not even Kate Middleton can tempt me to wear it again…
