In a sneak peak of tonight’s episode, Maya was seen wearing a beautiful red satin bodysuit and red velvet wrap around skirt, which according to an Instagram post costs upwards of £1,000 in total for the entire outfit.

The daring red combination serves its purpose for what is sure to be a fiery episode as the girls return to the main villa and either reunite with their original partner or bring in a new match.

So who designed Maya’s fiery look for Love Island?

Maya’s red two-piece was made by American fashion designer LaQuan Smith, who was born in Queens, New York, and first started to sketch designs from the age of six, after being inspired by his grandmother and women role models.

According to LaQuan's website, he 'didn't even think of being a designer, [he] was just fascinated by women and well-tailored clothing,' which resulted in him creating his business at the age of 21.

Although LaQuan’s applications to fashion schools Parsons and FIT in New York were rejected, he continued to design and ended up creating an LLC called LaQuan Smith 3D leggings, which became the starting point to his future success.

Known as ‘the leggings guy’ LaQuan’s initial designs were picked up by the likes of Beyoncé, Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Kim Kardashian, before LaQuan founded his business in 2013.

Since then, LaQuan has been named on Forbes 30 under 30, become an official ambassador for Moet and Chandon and had his designs featured on magazine covers including British Vogue - see Priyanka Chopra looking stunning in yellow.

While Maya Jama will be seen in a LaQuan Smith design tonight on ITV2, other celebrities have been seen recently donning the New-York born designer’s articles, including Amelia Dimoldenberg at the Golden Globes.

You can watch Love Island tonight at 9pm on ITV.
