OpenAI has issued updates after ChatGPT users are having issues. One Reddit user wrote: “Im in the UK and i think its down,” whilst another said: “same in Germany.” Someone else wrote: “Same in Ireland. Seems like a global outage for the most part.”
A Reddit user wrote on another ChatGPT thread that “I got booted from ChatGPT on all my devices, and now I'm just getting hit with error messages whenever I try to log back into my account.”
Another message on Reddit read: “Yep - India - Hyderabad. Been down (the orange error messages) the last hour or so.”
The status on OpenAI read that “We’re currently experiencing issues,” and elaborated by writing: “Users unable to load ChatGPT, Code and API Platform.”

On June 10, 2025, a surprise outage caused ChatGPT to go offline. OpenAI took to X and wrote: “We are observing elevated error rates and latency across ChatGPT and the API.
“Our engineers have identified the root cause and are working as fast as possible to fix the issue.”
In September 2025, many users were reporting issues after ChatGPT was hit by an outage. One user took to X and wrote: "Chatgpt is not responding to conversations!" and also said: "Never experienced this before...". One other person wrote: "I'm so sad. My work partner is down."
At the time their server status page read: "ChatGPT Not Displaying Responses. We are investigating the issue for the listed services."
