Which countries will go on the green list? 12 holiday destinations tipped to get green status this week

The UK travel list is due to be updated this week, with 12 new holiday spots tipped to be given green status.

Ministers are due to meet on Thursday (5 August) to decide what travel rules will be in place for most of August, which could open up more travel options over the summer holidays.

Under current rules, all travellers entering the UK from green list destinations do not need to self-isolate on their return, regardless of vaccination status.

At the moment only a small number of countries are included on the list, but analysis of Covid-19 and vaccination rates by travel consultancy The PC Agency predicts that a dozen more destinations could turn green following this week’s update.

Listed are 12 countries tipped to be given green list status this week and the latest coronavirus rates in each destination in the seven days up to 26 July.
