A major global data centre company is entering a new era of growth as demand for AI-ready infrastructure soars across the world.

The race to build the infrastructure behind the artificial intelligence boom is gathering pace — and STTGDC is positioning itself for a much bigger role.

The company has completed its acquisition by a KKR-led consortium comprising funds managed by global investment firm KKR and Singtel, while also unveiling a refreshed global brand for what it describes as the next chapter of its growth.

The deal is designed to give STTGDC long-term capital, greater financial flexibility and access to the consortium’s global infrastructure experience, helping it scale a strategy that is already underway.

For customers, however, much of the story remains business as usual.

STTGDC will retain the same leadership team, operating discipline and long-term customer commitment that have underpinned its growth for more than a decade. The company is also keeping the STTGDC name, with its refreshed brand intended to reflect the scale and capabilities of the global platform it has built.

Its new brand is centred on “Built Ready” - a phrase that captures the company's focus on delivering the reliable, resilient and AI-ready infrastructure increasingly demanded by customers across Asia, the United Kingdom and Europe.

“Today marks the most important turning point in STTGDC’s evolution since we founded the company more than 12 years ago,” said Bruno Lopez, President and Group CEO of STTGDC.

“The completion of this transaction signals the beginning of a new chapter for our company.

“We have spent over a decade building a global platform with the scale, capabilities and operating discipline needed to support the next generation of cloud and AI growth.

“With the KKR-Singtel consortium’s investment, we have greater capacity to grow and execute at scale while remaining true to the values and customer commitment that have defined STTGDC from its inception.

“Our refreshed brand reflects both the company we have become and the responsibility we carry as digital infrastructure becomes increasingly critical to economies, businesses and communities.

“Built Ready is our commitment to delivering the critical infrastructure our customers need to grow with confidence, while building responsibly and sustaining the trust of governments, customers and communities.”

The timing comes as the AI boom places enormous new demands on the data centre industry.

Since the end of 2025, STTGDC's operational capacity has increased by 25% to 780MW.

Contracted capacity has grown by 50%, while annualised earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) have risen by 30%[1].

The increases reflect continued demand from hyperscalers, cloud service providers, AI customers and enterprises across the company's markets.

But building data centres at the scale required by the AI industry is not simply a question of finding land and investing money.

As AI changes the scale, density and complexity of data centre development, one of the industry's biggest challenges is turning demand into actual delivered capacity. That involves coordinating power, cooling, design, supply chains, financing and local market conditions — while maintaining the discipline needed to deliver and operate mission-critical infrastructure reliably.

STTGDC says its strategy is therefore focused on markets where customer requirements, power availability, infrastructure readiness, policy alignment and long-term fundamentals support responsible development.

With close to 2GW of powered land secured for assets under construction and pipeline development, the company believes it is well positioned to convert customer demand into delivered capacity.

That strategy is already playing out across its global portfolio.

In India, STTGDC has 34 data centres across 10 cities and more than 613MW of IT capacity, and is strategically scaling its IT load capacity to support the country's expanding digital economy.

In Indonesia, the company is expanding its Jakarta campus and advancing a development pipeline of more than 360MW of AI-ready IT capacity backed by secured power. Recent development milestones are strengthening its ability to support Indonesia's growing cloud, AI and digital infrastructure requirements.

Singapore also remains strategically important. STTGDC has been selected to develop 50MW of sustainable, AI-ready data centre capacity, supporting the country's continued development as a trusted and resilient hub for AI, digital infrastructure and international connectivity.

The project is also intended to contribute to Singapore's strategic, economic and sustainability priorities.

While expansion is accelerating, STTGDC says responsible growth will remain central to its operations.

It is also working closely with governments, customers and communities to address local priorities and build the trust needed to operate in the markets where it is expanding.

For STTGDC, then, the next stage is not simply about constructing more data centres.

As AI, cloud computing and digital services continue to grow, the company is betting that the infrastructure behind them will become just as important — and that its combination of global scale, local expertise and new investment will put it in a strong position to help build it.
