Woman hits back after fiancé's Blackpool rollercoaster proposal mocked as 'sad' and 'low end'
A newly engaged mum has brushed off cruel online comments about her Blackpool rollercoaster proposal, saying the surprise was perfect because the ride holds a special place in her heart.
A newly engaged woman has hit back at cruel trolls who branded her Blackpool rollercoaster proposal 'sad' and 'low end', insisting her fiancé's unusual surprise was absolutely perfect.

Nicolle Henderson, 34, was left stunned when partner Derek Cowan, also 34, got down on one knee aboard their favourite ride at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
The couple, who live in Linlithgow, Scotland, had travelled to Blackpool with Nicolle's two daughters for a two-day break to see the famous illuminations.
But during their visit to Pleasure Beach on September 6, mechanic Derek had a secret plan up his sleeve.
He had contacted the resort in advance and arranged exclusive early access to the Avalanche rollercoaster by pretending he needed to inspect the ride's workings.
The unsuspecting mum was then persuaded to accompany him to the ride before the park opened.
And that's when Derek dropped to one knee.
Nicolle said she was completely “taken aback and shocked”, with Derek even giving her a speech she admits she can barely remember because she was so overwhelmed.
But for Nicolle, there could hardly have been a better location.

The Avalanche holds huge sentimental value because it was the first rollercoaster she ever rode, aged around six after just making the height requirement.
The couple were then given around 20 minutes of exclusive ride time to celebrate their engagement, along with champagne.
Pleasure Beach Resort shared pictures of the romantic moment on Facebook, with the post racking up more than 1,800 likes.
But alongside the congratulations came a wave of criticism.
One troll called the proposal “low end”, while another joked that choosing Avalanche was fitting because it was “surely all downhill from there”.
A third simply branded the whole thing “How sad.”
Nicolle, however, isn't losing any sleep over the comments.
She said: “We're Blackpool Pleasure Beach superfans and it was perfect for us.”
She added that while she likes a fuss, she doesn't enjoy being surrounded by crowds — making the private proposal even more special.
The couple, who met on Tinder three years ago, are now hoping to marry within a year and are even considering holding their wedding in Blackpool.
Nicolle said the worldwide response has shown them how much people enjoy celebrating a happy couple.
Her advice to anyone planning an unusual proposal? “Just go for it.”
Pleasure Beach Resort's director of operations Andy Hygate congratulated the couple, saying the resort was delighted to play a part in such an important occasion.
And judging by Nicolle's reaction, the trolls can say what they like — she's already got the happy ending she wanted.
