A drunk woman was captured on CCTV smashing up her neighbour’s car with a 3ft long pick-axe handle in a row over a parking spot.

Annette Kealy, 56, had consumed wine and whiskey before she angrily attacked a Ford Focus and then moved on to batter two more cars.

The 56 year-old, who is unemployed, smashed two windscreens and dented the bonnet of another car after she went on a rampage at around 10.45pm on 3 February.

‘She was raging’

The shocking footage shows Ms Kealy attacking her neighbour Richard Breakwell’s Ford Focus in Worcester.

Mr Breakwell, 55, lives in the flat above her in Stanhope Court and described her behaviour as “stark raving mad”.

He said: “She just went absolutely stark raving mad. I mean she was raging, like some kind of wild animal.

“I really couldn’t believe what I was seeing.

“I could see she had a huge piece of wood and was smashing up the cars. She must have hit them a hundred times or more.

“When I realised what was going on I went outside. She was smacking the bonnet again and again.

“I said to her ‘Stop doing that! It’s out of order. I’m going to call the police’ but she kept hitting the cars and swearing at me.”

Ms Kealy only stopped her attack when her boyfriend intervened and led her away.

Mr Breakwell added: “Annette was on a right mission. Her eyes were wild. Luckily her boyfriend grabbed her and took her inside.”

Worcester Magistrates’ Court heard that Ms Kealy flew into a rage because she believed her boyfriend’s parking space was constantly being used by three of her neighbours.

She claimed the spot was always occupied by either Mr Breakwell’s Ford Focus, Bruce Powell’s grey Honda CVR or John Spinetto’s white Audi A3.

£1,000 worth of damage

Ms Kealy pleaded guilty to three counts of criminal damage and admitted assaulting her neighbour when she appeared at Worcester Magistrates’ Court on Friday (4 March).

She was fined £200 and ordered to pay £100 in compensation to each of the three victims of the criminal damage, plus a £34 victim surcharge.

The court also ordered her to pay a further £50 in compensation to Mr Breakwell, who said the attack cost him £1,000 to replace his broken windscreen and to pay for repairs to his wrecked car.

He said: “To be honest I’m still out of pocket because the excess on my insurance is the same amount she got fined which seems unfair to me.

“I don’t know what made her so mad. I just don’t understand it. There is no designated parking so we can park in whichever space is free.

“We all make mistakes but I think she should have sent us all an apology which none of us have. Now she’s got a criminal record.

“We have had a few rows in the past over my music, which she said was too loud but it’s never got so serious there’s been any fisticuffs.

"I really don’t want to live here anymore because of what has happened.

“I just want my windscreen and any damage to be paid for. I’m really concerned about what she will do in terms of repercussions.”

Fellow neighbour Mr Spinetto, 71, who is a retired music teacher, added: “I’m very disappointed, shocked and angry about the whole episode.

“She was drunk at the time and she thought her boyfriend should be able to park where he wants which is just wrong.

“She dented the passenger door, the driver’s wing and the windscreen and I’ve got to pay the £500 excess for a £2,700 repair bill which I just can’t afford on my pension.

“I really never expected anything like this to happen. It’s shocking. We’re all neighbours and need to get on.”
