This is the shocking footage which show murderer Emma Tustin shedding crocodile tears as she lied to cops about how her stepson was injured.

Tustin, who was jailed for life, after she left Arthur Labinjo-Hughes with an “unsurvivable” brain injury, even claimed during the interview the six-year-old had hit her.

During an interview with police, which was captured on bodyworn cameras, Tustin, who must serve at least 29 years in prison, speaks rapidly as she gives her version of what took place.

She fatally assaulted the boy in the hallway of her home in Cranmore Road, Solihull, on 16 June last year using severe force.

Arthur, whose body was also covered in 130 bruises, died in hospital the next day.

Among the offences in the campaign of cruelty Tustin carried out against Arthur, was poisoning him salt just hours before fatally assaulting the youngster, and she had also been administering “smaller doses of salt for some time” to his meals. She also withheld food and drink, as well as assaulting him.

Arthur was made to sleep on the floor each night, and police had been told by a witness that although he had appeared healthy in February, by June he had been “struggling to stand” and seemed weak.

In the bodyworn footage Arthur’s dad, Thomas Hughes who was jailed for 21 years for manslaughter, stands silently by, while his partner tells police Arthur headbutted the floor.

What did Tustin say to police?

When asked what happened she says: “Arthur was told to sit on the thinking step. Arthur’s put himself all over the floor, he’s banged himself off the radiator, he’s hit me, kicked me in the process of me trying to get him on the thinking step.

“He’s then gone on all fours on the floor and I have told him to get up and shut the door all I heard was a crack on the floor. He was headbutting the floor on all fours. I said Arthur get up, you are going to hurt yourself, I’m phoning your dad. He said ‘I don’t care’.

“At that point he was fine then and then he dropped his head again as I’ve tried to bear hug him and pick him up, and he headbutted the floor three times.”

In a later clip Tustin can be seen crying and wiping away tears as she claimed she had “done her best for that kid”, and accused the six-year-old of being violent to her - saying he had hit her, and added: “we went to my friend’s house and he pushed me down five stairs. ‘you’re not my real mum, I hate you.’”

Tustin also claimed he had “smashed this house to pieces” and bizarrely said Arthur had “battered” his dad.
