A young boy has been left with a “serious eye injury after being struck in the face by a firework, according to Northern Ireland World. Police believe that the firework was thrown towards the 12-year-old boy by a group of youths, with a senior cop describing the incident as “traumatic”. Chief Inspector Dunne said: "As we approach the Halloween period, I would ask local parents and guardians to speak to their young people about where they are and who they are with, and to warn them of the dangers of getting involved in this type of behaviour. They could injure themselves or others, and end up with a criminal record which would impact their future employment and travel prospects.”

Police and shop bosses in Northamptonshire have launched a three-year plan to crackdown on shoplifting after cases rose from 200 per month to 550 per month. The team way set up in May after a video of thieves sweeping food of of the selves of a BP garage in Corby went viral. Deterrents so far have included publishing names of frequent offenders as well as tougher stances on repeat offenders.

A football club in Rothwell has had a vital cup game thrown into doubt after an arson attack on their stadium, according to the Northamptonshire Telegraph.

A fire was deliberately started in the stands of Rothwell Corinthians Football Club’s ground, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage. Club volunteers and members have said that they have been left dealing with the cost of the “heart-breaking” attack, with the club’s important FA Vase cup game due to take place on Saturday (October 19).

Chairwoman Lottie McCarthy: "It could jeopardise the biggest game for a decade if we can’t get it compliant but I know my team will do everything to make it happen.” Police are investigating the incident.

A defiant Doncaster pub boss has spoken out after vandals targeted his establishment and his parked car.

The Three Horse Shoes in Branton was splattered with white paint, as well as a nearby parked Kia, which belongs to general manger Mikey Hebden. Hebden said that he believed the vandalism was linked to a “recent incident”.

He said: "I believe this stems from a recent incident that occurred last week where we were ensuring that all our guests have a safe environment to be in.

“Let us be clear: we will not be bullied. This incident only strengthens our resolve to maintain a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone who steps through our doors.”

A man has been charged after a bus was damaged and he “exposed himself” in Brighton, according to SussexWorld.

A Sussex Police spokesperson said: "Following the report to police on October 6 at around 5.50pm, officers attended Western Road, near Western Terrace, and arrested Phillip Murphy, 57, of Selsfield Drive at the scene. Murphy was charged the next day with criminal damage, indecent exposure, using threatening / abusive language / behaviour to cause alarm or distress, and for two counts of assaulting an emergency worker.”

He is due to appear in court on November 5.

Police are searching for a cyclist after a road rage incident resulted in damage to the windscreen and bonnet of a car in Gosport.

The Portsmouth News reported that a confrontation occurred on Mumby Road, in which the cyclist in question punched the bonnet and windscreen of the car. Police have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to in relation to the incident and have urged anyone with any information to get in touch.

A clothing store boss in Peterborough has offered a £10,000 rewards to recover a container full of best-selling fleeces.

Andrew Killingsworth, chief executive and founder of Yours Clothing, has asked customer to keep an eye out for any signs of the stolen goods, which included 3,800 Longline Fleece Zipped Hoodies. The clothing items had been shipped from China to Felixstowe port before being driven to Peterborough via lorry.

He said that shipment’s security trackers had been dumped on a layby on the A14. Police are aware of the incident and are investigating.
