Reports say Chechik smashed her tailbone on the floor so hard her “bones completely crushed”, fusing multiple vertebrae and causing “nerve damage to the bladder”. She was in surgery for over five hours after the accident. On 12 October, she wrote on Twitter: “So surgery went well, 5 hrs 30 minutes! More fusions than expected, bones completely crushed & nerve damage to my bladder, hopefully, I’ll be able to pee again in the near future...had some bleeding around the bone but overall doing good!”
“I’m a lot of pain but feeling hopeful and rdy to bring the heat to walk again! Anyone know where I can get my brace blinged and or a pink coating for it as I’ll be in it for a long time?”
On 14 October she issued another update, writing: “For the ppl asking why did u jump. Don’t try and turn me into the bad guy. I am among all those who assumed it was met with proper safety precautions. It’s like getting into a car assuming the air bag will work and it doesn’t. I’m not at fault. None of the victims injured are.”

Hide AdDuring her first stream after her surgery, Chechik revealed she was pregnant when she was in the hospital getting operated on after the accident. She said: “I don’t care if everyone’s gonna know, but I was pregnant. And I didn’t find out till I was in the hospital. So I also have like crazy hormones. But I am not pregnant anymore because of the surgery. I couldn’t keep it.”
Commenting on her surgery, she said: “I got sent to a trauma hospital, and the trauma hospital... had one of the leading neurosurgeon teams. So I had a team of eight doctors that cared for me, and I was four days in hospital before the surgery. Just because they were prepping for nerve damage and a bunch of other stuff that could’ve gone wrong, or they couldn’t tell from the CT or the MRI. They did an amazing job. The stitches were inside because I’m a model. So, I was like, ‘Can you do anything to hide the stitches?’”
On the streaming site, she showed the scar on her back and pointed out the position of the metal rod in her back inserted to help with her injury.
According to her viewers, she still seems to be feeling the effects of the injury and has been experiencing shortness of breath saying: “I’m out of breath if you can’t tell I’m already out of breath. I get out of breath holding my phone, everything.”
Chechik also explained she has to wear a back brace regularly and said no one from the convention has sent her well wishes. As yet there has been no public comments from Twitch or Kairos Media.
