Who was Bob Saget - and what TV shows was he in?
Saget was an American comedian, actor and TV host, who was born in Philadelphia on 17 May 1956.
After leaving high school in 1975, Saget attended Temple University’s film school and, after earning an award of merit for his black and white film Through Adam’s Eyes, Saget graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1978.
Saget then went on to be cast as Danny Tanner in Full House, one of his best known roles to date, alongside the likes of John Stamos, Dave Coulier, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and Lori Loughlin. Full House ran from 1987 to 1995, broadcasting eight seasons and 192 episodes altogether.
In 1996, Saget directed the made for TV film For Hope, which was inspired by the life of his sister, Gay, who had died from scleroderma.
Saget was also a board member of the Scleroderma Research Foundation. In an interview with Ability Magazine, Saget talked about how his sister had been diagnosed with scleroderma at the age of 43, before she passed away at 47.
He said: “Before [she died], she had been misdiagnosed many times. Unfortunately, rheumatologists in a lot of places don’t have very many scleroderma patients come through their labs, and no one knew what to do with her. I wish I’d known then what I know now.”
Fans of the sitcom How I Met Your Mother will know Saget as the voice of future Ted, and the narrator of the show, which ran for nine seasons from 2005 to 2014.
Other notable roles from Saget’s career include Raising Dad, 1 vs 100, That Ain’t Right, Surviving Suburbia, Strange Days and Entourage, where he played a parody of himself.
He reprised his role as Danny Tanner in the Full House sequel series Fuller House, from 2016 to 2020.
Last year, Saget also launched his podcast called Bob Saget’ Here For You.

Rizzo is best known for her food and travel show Eat Travel Rock, and the two met after Saget DMed her on Instagram. Rizzo shared their love story in a viral TikTok video.
In the clip she said: “[Saget] said, “Hey, want to come to a show of mine and then go out for some burgers and lobsters?” and I was like, “Okay, we could be friends”.
“And then I was like, “Oh no, I kind of like him”. And then we got married. And now it’s been five years, and, yes, our house is very clean.”
Saget had three children with Kramer, Aubrey, Lara Melanie and Jennifer Belle.
