It is certainly a good week for Greggs. Despite the price of a Greggs sausage roll costing £1.20, up from £1 at the start of 2022, total sales were so far up 17%. According to the BBC, “Greggs’ chief executive Roisin Currie said customers were ‘loving the versatility’ of hot and cold options. It’s all about offering that choice, so people can come in more frequently,” she said.

Greggs are certainly trying to provide their customers with plenty of ‘choice’ as they are set to launch a brand new range of flatbreads this Thursday 18 March 2023, which is set to include a Mexican chicken flavour.

Not only is there good news for Greggs when it comes to their ranges, but when it comes to their London Leicester Square bakery too. They have now won the right to keep their flagship store open until 2am from Thursday to Saturday and until midnight through the rest of the week.

In March of this year, it was reported that staff would receive an average of £700 each as a share of a £16.6 million bonus. The Evening Standard reported that “Sales jumped 23% to £1.5 billion in 2022, Greggs said today, while pre-tax profits crept up slightly to £148 million as cash-strapped brits flocked to its stores in search of affordable menu options and sky-high inflation.”

What is Roisin Currie's net worth?

When it comes to Roisin Currie’s own fortunes, she reportedly earns £1.3 million a year and was appointed as Greggs new chief executive in January 2022 after taking over from Roger Whiteside. She became the first woman to run Greggs in its 83 year old history and was promoted from retail and property director to chief executive.

In May 2022 The Guardian reported that “Bonus payouts for Greggs’ outgoing chief executive, Roger Whiteside, amounted to more than double his basic salary of £575,209, taking his total package to £1.9m including benefits.”
