Jake Ankers: who is Charlotte Crosby’s boyfriend as couple announce Geordie Shore star is pregnant

Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby has announced she is pregnant with her first child with boyfriend Jake Ankers.

Her fellow Geordie Shore castmates, like Sophie Kasaei, Chloe Ferry, Jay Gardner and Holly Hagan have all offered their congratulations to Crosby on Instagram.

Who is Charlotte Crosby?

Crosby is best known as an English reality TV star, having found fame as one of the original cast members of the MTV show Geordie Shore, the UK version of the American Jersey Shore.

She was born in Sunderland on 17 May 1990 and attended St Anthony’s Girls’ Catholic Academy before being cast on Geordie Shore in 2011.

During her time on the show, she famously had an on again off again relationship with fellow Geordie Shore star Gaz Beadle. She announced in 2016 that she would be leaving the show.

Since then, she has starred in other shows, appearing as a guest panellist on programmes like Britain’s Got More Talent, Xtra Factor and Celebrity Juice.

In 2013, she participated in the 12th season of Celebrity Big Brother, of which she was eventually crowned the winner.

The following year, Crosby was granted her own reality series on TLC, called The Charlotte Crosby Experience, which ran for one season, from 29 April to 27 May 2014. From 2017 to 2019, Crosby was a permanent host of the MTV show Just Tattoo of Us.

In 2018, it was confirmed that she was given her own reality series once again, but this time on MTV, titled The Charlotte Show, which ran for three seasons.

Outside of appearing on TV, Crosby launched a fashion line in 2014, has released a number of fitness DVDs and published an autobiography called ME ME ME which became a Sunday Times bestseller.

Who is Jake Ankers?

While Crosby has had a number of highly public relationships with fellow reality TV stars like Gaz Beadle, Stephen Bear and Josh Ritchie, her current relationship with boyfriend Jake Ankers has been kept fairly private.

The pair had reportedly been seeing each other in a more casual capacity before they eventually went public with the relationship in January 2022. As of April 2022, they have been together for roughly seven months.

Crosby has also moved in with Ankers in his luxury apartment in Manchester, which he owns, with a source telling the Sun: “Jake’s just letting her do what she wants with the place.

“They really are smitten with each other and enjoying setting up home together.”

Ankers doesn’t have a huge social media presence as his Instagram account and Twitter account are both private, meaning that users will only be able to follow him if they request to do so and he approves it.

Ankers is a businessman, and in his Instagram bio, he has a number of businesses listed, including a restaurant in Manchester which goes by Food Well in the day and Firefly at night. He also has a chauffeur service listed as well, called Streamline Executive.

Talking about Ankers in a candid YouTube video posted on her account, Crosby said: “I can honestly say this, I have never met anyone who is so amazing.”

She added: “I can feel myself getting emotional. Because I’ve been through all of those s**theads, and all them k******s and it was all for a reason. It has led me to that happy ever after.”

When did she announce her pregnancy?

Crosby announced her pregnancy on Tuesday (11 March) with a post on Instagram.

She posted a video montage on the social media platform, which included clips of her positive pregnancy test and undergoing an ultrasound scan.

The video also documented the moment that she shared the news with her family.

In the caption, she wrote: “A moment I wasn’t sure would ever be mine is here (and Jakes) and I couldn’t be happier to be sharing it with you all….. I’m having a baby!”

Ankers commented on the post, writing: “I love you so much baby girl!!!! Can’t wait to meet our baby!”

Crosby also posted a video to YouTube to announce her pregnancy as well.

The news comes after, in 2016, Crosby was left with compromised fertility after suffering from an ectopic pregnancy.

Opening up about the experience in an interview with Heat in 2016, Crosby said: “I thought I had a really bad period because I was bleeding and cramping - I can’t describe the pain, it was awful.”

The pain got to a point where she had to go to the hospital.

She said: “[The doctor] put me in a wheelchair and I collapsed out of it. I was fitting on the floor and it was just so scary.

“I didn’t know what the hell was going on and I was in so much pain. Then the X-ray showed how much damage had been caused.

“Because I’d left it a week, it’d torn open by fallopian tube and I was bleeding internally. He said, “If you’d have left it any longer, you could have died”.”

The Geordie Shore star said that she was worried that she wouldn’t be able to have children in the future as a result however, she said that doctors reassured her that she would be able to have kids, she’s just “have to try a bit harder”.
