Kate Middleton and Prince William’s wedding on 29 April 2011
For someone who has worked in the bridal industry for many years, I can say wholeheartedly that Kate Middleton’s Alexander McQueen wedding dress was nothing short of a triumph and I know that it still inspires many brides to be today. It was also somewhat reminiscent of the bridal gown the Hollywood actress Grace Kelly chose to marry Prince Rainier of Monaco in 1956.

Although Kate was pregnant at the time on her State Visit to Norway in 2017, she looked resplendent in an Alexander McQueen gown when she was escorted by King Harald at an official dinner at the Royal Palace in Oslo. Vogue France described it as ‘providing serious inspiration for future brides.’
Queen Elizabeth 11’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022
For Queen Elizabeth 11’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022, Kate chose to wear an Alexander McQueen blazer dress that she had previously worn to the G7 Summit at The Eden Project in June 2021. To complete the look, Kate opted for a Philip Treacy hat in navy and white and wore a pair of earrings that had been previously worn by her late mother in law, Princess Diana.
