Although school has ended for Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis and they are officially on their summer holidays, their parents are still on ‘royal work duty.’ Catherine, Princess of Wales, who is a big fan of Wimbledon, and Prince William, usually attend the finals, the women’s singles final takes place on Saturday 15 July and the men’s singles final on Sunday 16 July.

So, once their ‘work duties’ are over, where could the royal family be set to go on their summer holidays? In 2021, it was revealed that Prince William and Princess Catherine and their children had enjoyed a ‘staycation’ summer holiday on the Isles of Scilly in Cornwall for the second year in a row (the COVID-19 pandemic was obviously a big reason for their choice).

In 2022, Tatler reported that “photographs were taken of the family heading towards a helicopter situated near Kensington Palace'' The article went on to say that “Sporting a wide-brimmed sun hat and flowing white dress the (then) duchess appeared suitably dressed for the holiday.” Although it was rumoured that they were heading to Mustique, this was not confirmed.

However, before the pandemic, it is believed that Princess Catherine, Prince William and their three children did fly off to Mustique in 2019, which is reported to be one of the couple’s favourite destinations. As well as holidaying in Mustique with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, they have also been to this destination with Princess Catherine’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, her brother, James Middleton, and Pippa Middleton (now Matthews).

According to Hello! “With a no-fly zone enforced over Mustique and the discretion of other guests, the royals are able to truly relax and let their hair down. On previous trips, William and Kate have played tennis, gone snorkelling and scuba diving, and enjoyed cocktails at the five-star Cotton House resort.”

It would seem that Mustique could one again be Princess Catherine and Prince William’s summer destination for 2023. Watch this space.
