Tyler Perry recently took his private jet last Friday to visit Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, but it has now been revealed that it wasn’t for an impromptu catch up, but to attend Lilibet’s christening as her godparents. According to the Daily Mail, “Royal journalist Omid Scobie who is close to the Sussexes, reported that ‘King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, Princess Kate were invited, but didn’t attend.”

Lilibet’s christening took place in a small ceremony at the couple’s home in Montecito and the ceremony was carried out by the Bishop of Los Angeles, the Reverend John Taylor.

A spokesperson for the couple said: “I can confirm that Princess Lilibet Diana was christened on Friday, March 3, by the Archbishop of Los Angeles, the Rev John Taylor.”

Tyler Perry who flew from Los Angeles specifically  to be a part of Lilibet’s christening spoke about how he was not keen to be part of a public christening for her on the Netflix documentary, Harry & Meghan. “Uh hold on a second,” he said. Does that mean we got to go over there and do all of that in the church with (the royal family) and figure all that out? I don’t want to do that.”

Although Prince Harry’s family were reportedly invited but did not attend Lilibet’s christening, the couple were supported at the ceremony by Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland.
