It would have been quite a coup for Meghan Markle if she had managed to secure Taylor Swift as a guest on her Archetypes’ podcast, but unfortunately that was not the case for the Duchess of Sussex, despite writing the music superstar a handwritten note!

According to reports, Taylor Swift turned down the invitation to appear on Meghan Markle’s podcast through a representative. This was after the Duchess of Sussex was said to have written the singer a personal letter.

Although Meghan Markle's Archetypes podcast attracted the likes of Mariah Carey and Serena Williams, perhaps Taylor Swift simply felt it wasn't the right 'career move' for her?

At present, it would seem that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s ‘careers’ have faltered quite dramatically in the last few months. Although Meghan Markle was reportedly on the verge of signing a deal with Dior, according to Women’s Wear Daily this is not the case. Women’s Daily said that “a spokesman for Dior in Paris told WWD the reports are unfounded, stressing there had been no contract negotiations or recent contact with Markle.”

Despite suggestions that  Dior has not been in contact with Meghan Markle, this did not stop other members of the royal family wearing the designer label recently. Queen Camilla wore a custom Dior coat and dress for Royal Ascot last week.

The Wall Street Journal has also claimed in an article that Spotfiy and Netflix executives have reportedly been ‘underwhelmed’ by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s lack of productivity. Sources have also claimed in the article that there have been a series of projects that have not been made by the couple.

The Times wrote that “As well as a children’s show called Pearl, which was cancelled, at least two television ideas have been rejected in the past year, sources claimed.” Despite all of these ‘rejections’ the couple are reportedly making a show for Netflix called ‘Bad Manners.’ The show is said to be based on the character of Miss Havisham in the Charles Dickens novel, Great Expectations.

It was of course only a few months ago that Meghan Markle signed with talent agency WME, the agency that counts the likes of Megan’s friend Serena Williams and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson as their clients. She is also said to be potentially teaming up with her friend, make-up entrepreneur Victoria Jackson who could help her build a new beauty brand.

Meghan Markle’s agent at WME is Ari Emanuel, who is known as a ‘super agent.’ He is married to Sarah Staudinger, who founded the fashion brand Staud, which Meghan is a big fan of. When she recently attended a Lakers match with Prince Harry, she wore a blazer and shorts set by the label.

It will be interesting to see what Ari Emanuel is planning next with regards Meghan Markle's career. If as reports suggest, the ‘Dior deal’ is a non-starter, could the Duchess of Sussex move into beauty instead? Watch this space…
