Who are Victoria Jackson and Bill Guthy? They could help Meghan Markle’s in the next ‘stage’ of her career

When the news broke over the weekend that Meghan Markle could be set to sign a deal with Dior, naturally the headlines were dominated by the Duchess of Sussex, the fashion house, and of course Prince Harry. However, there were two names that have come up in the same conversations, and those names are Victoria Jackson and Bill Guthy.

According to he Daily Mail, “The circle offering business advice to the couple also includes close friend and neighbour Victoria Jackson, who built one of the first TV 'infomercial make-up empires. Ms Jackson is married to Bill Guthy, whose direct marketing company Guthy-Renker helped ex-supermodel Cindy Crawford turn her Meaningful Beauty line of creams and cosmetics into an £80 million brand, and also represents Jennier Lopez’s JLo Beauty.”

In an episode for her Archetypes podcast, Meghan spoke to Victoria Jackson who relived the traumatic experience of losing 13 year old daughter Ali  in 2008 to an autoimmune disease known as neuromyelitis optica (NMO). The Mirror reported that “The death of her daughter prompted Victoria and her husband, Bill Guthy, to start Guthy-Jackson Charitable Foundation to champion basic scientific research to find new treatments and ultimately a cure for NMO.”

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry reportedly became good friends with Victoria and Bill when they moved to Montecito after stepping back as senior working royals. Women’s Wear Daily wrote that “In 2021, Jackson launched Kind Science, an age-positive skin care line, with Ellen DeGeneres.” Ellen is of course a Montecito neighbour of Meghan and Harry and the couple attended her surprise wedding vow renewal ceremony to Portia de Rossi in February of this year (Kris Jenner officiated the vows). 

In 2022, Meghan Markle appeared on the cover of The Cut.

The Cut revealed that Prince Harry and Megahn Markle “spend time with a close-knit group of friends who have lunch and dinner at one another’s homes, including former makeup artist and entrepreneur Victoria Jackson, who has become a close friend and ‘safe harbour.”

The article goes on to say that Victoria “has a sprawling ranch near Santa Barbara that she lent to Meghan for the photo shoot”

If Meghan Markle does lean on Victoria and husband Bill Guthy for career advice, she is clearly in the right hands as Bill’s company have helped both Cindy Crawford and Jennifer Lopez when it comes to their beauty lines. Perhaps along with Dior, Meghan’s friends Victoria and Bill will help her launch a successful skincare or beauty line in the near future too?
