Fans were disappointed when Holly was not on air for the third week, after she and co-host Phil took two weeks off hosting the ITV daytime show over the Easter holiday.

So, where was Holly on This Morning today - and when will she return?

Here is everything you need to know.

Why is Holly not on This Morning?

After her two-week break from the morning show, viewers were expecting Holly to return on Monday.

But many were left confused when it was Rochelle who appeared alongside Phil on that day, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

It turns out that Holly is taking another week off her This Morning presenting role.

Taking to Instagram, the 40-year-old revealed that she was “working on something else” which is why Rochelle would be standing in for her.

However, fans were curious when Holly did not say what the secret project was, although some have speculated that she could be filming for Midsomer Murders after she was offered a role in the cast in March.

She posted a picture of herself and her son Chester lying on some grass, with a cup of tea, a notebook and a pen in the shot.

The caption read: “Vitamin d, caffeine and a side order of distraction from Chester.

"Working on something else next week which I can’t wait to share with you all.... thank you to the lovely @rochellehumes for keeping my side of the sofa warm... x"

How did fans react?

Viewers were quick to respond in the comments, with one saying: “So no This Morning for you this week either?”

Others were keen to know about Holly’s new project, writing: “Can’t wait to see what you are planning,” while another asked: “Any hints on what it is?”

Another fan was more vocal about their disappointment that the presenter would be off-air for a third week.

They said: “Looking forward to seeing @rochellehumes but not liking the fact it’s the 3rd week of no @hollywilloughby on the sofa even though it will be good to see Phil back on the screen…”

One said they were “gutted” Holly was away from the morning programme, but added they were “excited” to see what she was working on.

When will Holly return to This Morning?

While Holly is busy working on her new project, Rochelle will join Phil at the table from Monday to Thursday.

After that, Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary will host as usual on Friday.

Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford stepped in to cover for Holly and Phil when they were off on their holidays for the past couple of weeks.

As Holly said she would be away for a week, it is thought that the presenter will return to the sofa alongside Phil on Monday 26 April.
