Who is Julia Fox? What Kanye West’s new flame and Uncut Gems star shared on Instagram - and is she married?

Kanye ‘Ye’ West has been pictured with his latest flame, as the pair dined in New York following a week of romance.

Actress and artist Julia Fox shared intimate details about their second outing together, as Kanye treated her to clothes and dinner in one of her favourite restaurants.

Fans of Kanye and his estranged wife Kim Kardashian have been quick to ask who she is and how the pair met.

Here is what Julia Fox has said of the relationship between her and the ‘Praise God’ singer.

Who is Julia Fox?

Fox is an Italian-American actress who was born in Milan, Italy, to an Italian mother and American father.

Her parents split shortly after she was born and she was raised for the first six years of her life by her grandfather in Sirona, before moving to Manhattan to live with her father.

While she is best known for being a model and starring in several recent films, she has also worked as a shoe shop clerk, in several hospitality roles and as a dominatrix while she was still in high school.

In 2020, she told Rolling Stone magazine that she used to shoplift expensive clothes to mirror the wealthy women of Manhattan. This led to her being arrested for stealing from Bloomingdale’s.

She posed for Playboy back in 2015, in the magazine’s last nude edition, and also has a keen interest in art.

In 2017, she hosted an art exhibition titled ‘RIP Julia Fox’, in which she displayed her artwork of silk canvases painted with her own blood.

Prior to this, she self-published two books of her own work, Symptomatic of a Relationship Gone Sour: Heartburn/Nausea in 2015, and PTSD in 2016.

In 2018, she married Peter Artemiev, a private pilot based out of Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, and gave birth to their son, Valentino, in February 2021.

Fox added acting to her CV in 2019, when she starred alongside Adam Sandler in Uncut Gems, where she played his character’s mistress.

The 31-year-old also wrote and directed Fantasy Girls, about a group of teenage girls involved in sex work living in Reno, Nevada.

She has since split from her husband and continues to reside in Manhattan.

Prior to Christmas, she took to Instagram to air her frustrations, referring to her husband as a "dead beat alcoholic drug addict dad,” who can be found “at… Lucien, Paul’s [Baby Grand], Casablanca, the streets etc.,” she alleged.

How did she meet Kanye West?

Fox met Kanye by chance on New Year’s Eve, as she and her friends welcomed the 2022 in Miami.

The 44-year-old rapper and designer apparently shared an “instant connection” with Fox, thanks to his “fun energy”, according to her article for Interview Magazine.

“He had me and my friends laughing, dancing, and smiling all night. We decided to keep the energy going and fly back to New York City to see Slave Play,” she said just one week after they hit it off.

The mother-of-one went on to divulge in great detail how he flew her back to New York, where they dined in one of her favourite city spots.

“Ye’s flight landed at six and the play was at seven and he was there ON TIME. I was impressed. After the play we chose to do dinner at Carbone which is one of my favorite restaurants,” she gushed.

“At the restaurant, Ye directed an entire photo shoot for me while people dined,” she added.

“After dinner Ye had a surprise for me. I mean, I’m still in shock. Ye had an entire hotel suite full of clothes.”

She then went on to say she felt like Cinderella, adding that “I’m loving the ride”.

“I don’t know how he did it, or how he got all of it there in time. But I was so surprised. Like, who does things like this on a second date? Or any date!” she penned in the article.

Fox then reiterated her feelings for Ye, adding: “Everything with us has been so organic. I don’t know where things are headed but if this is any indication of the future I’m loving the ride.”

Along with the essay of details, she shared photos from the shoot in Carbone and Kanye and ‘Play Slave’ writer Jeremy O Harris can be seen in the background.

At the time the photos were taken, Harris posted to Twitter: “I’d only third wheel for Ye and Julia.”

Since their second date, several publications have drawn comparisons between how Julia is dressed and how Ye’s wife Kim Kardashian often dresses.

Has Kanye or Kim responded to Fox’s detailed account?

Kim Kardashian has yet to comment on her husband’s outings with Fox, though didn’t seem too upset as she posed for a bikini selfie on Instagram.

She captioned the shot: “Sweet Sweet Fantasy Baby”, which could be a jibe at Fox’s Fantasy Girls film.

However, The Sun also reported a source close to the mother-of-four said: “Kim thinks it’s comical Kanye went from begging her to come back to showcasing his new girl all over the city within days.

‘She knows it’s not serious and is just typical hijinks from Kanye, Kim thinks it’s another desperate attempt to make her jealous. She honestly doesn’t care, she’s very over him at this point so his little game isn’t working.”

Kardashian, 41, is currently dating 28-year-old American comedian, actor and screenwriter Pete Davidson.

Regardless of Fox’s ‘organic’ ‘instant connection’ with Ye, he has also been pictured with Puerto Rican pop artist Audri Nix in Miami on New Year’s Day and caught up with her after his second date with Fox also.

According to reports, he has also hired a full time photographer to travel with him as he hopes to document his life and create an album.
