Zoe Sugg, also known by her online handle Zoella, has given birth to her first child with partner Alfie Deyes.

The pair announced the news of the pregnancy in March, and days before giving birth Zoe posted a couple pictures of her baby bump on Instagram, writing: “38 weeks! Not long now baby girl! Has this pregnancy gone quickly for everyone else too or just me?”

What’s her daughter’s name?

Zoe shared a picture of her newborn baby on Instagram, with the caption: “She’s here! Meet Ottilie Rue Deyes, 29/08/21.”

The comments on the picture, which have been limited, show the pair’s friends and family gushing over the newborn.

Joe Sugg, Zoe’s brother and Strictly Come Dancing star, left a comment of five heart emojis, and Louise Penland, fellow YouTuber and friend, wrote: “Congratulations! Welcome to the mum club!! Gorgeous!!”

Mark Ferris, who regularly appears in Zoe’s videos, commented: “Pefect lil bubba xxxxx”

Zoe and her partner announced the news of the pregnancy in an Instagram post earlier this year in March.

The caption of the post read: “We’re super excited to share with you that our baby girl will be joining us in September.”

The two have been together for almost nine years, and prior to Zoe giving birth, dad Alfie told Metro that they had been struggling to choose a name for their daughter.

He said: “I wish we had [decided on a name]. I just really want to see her little face!”

Alfie added: “I know so many people that have named their babies - the baby’s been born and then they’ve changed the name. I didn’t realise how hard it was to make a decision on the name.

“We’ve got one in mind that we really, really like, but I want to see her little face beforehand.”

What does the name Ottilie mean?

Ottilie, which is pronounced “Ott-lee-lay”, is said to be a French derivative of the German masculine name Otto.

It can mean “prosperous in battle”, “riches” and “wealth”.

The most well known Ottilie in history is Ottilie Assing, who was a 19th century German-American journalist, essayist, feminist and abolitionist.

Zoe and Alfie haven’t yet revealed their inspirations behind the name.

How long has she and Alfie Deyes been together?

The pair have been dating since early October 2012, with Zoe announcing their relationship a year later via blog post titled “Zalfie”, which is the couple name that they’ve been given by fans.

Prior to officially announcing their relationship, friend and fellow YouTuber Jim Chapman actually accidentally spilled the beans in a video of his which briefly showed Zoe’s laptop screen - which was a picture of her and Alfie kissing.

In 2014, the two moved in together and in 2017 they moved again into a £1.7 million home in Brighton.

Throughout the course of their relationship, they have fielded engagement rumours but as of yet nothing has been announced in the way of wedding bells.

In September 2020, Alfie posted a video to YouTube titled “Answering questions I’ve always avoided”, and in it he revealed that the most asked question he receives is about when he’ll be getting down on one knee.

He said: “With this question, there isn’t a straightforward answer, and surely you can’t be expecting a straightforward answer.”
