Inside the Great Ormond Street Hospital security guards strike - in pictures

Workers who helped keep hospital staff and patients safe throughout the pandemic are striking for the same rights and benefits enjoyed by their NHS colleagues

Outsourced security guards at the world-famous Great Ormond Street Hospital in London are taking strike action against the hospital and their employer, Carlisle Support Services.

The strike, which is scheduled to last six weeks, began last week after hospital management failed to meet an extended deadline to engage with the worker’s demands.

Jeremy Corbyn was among those who turned out to the strike rally on Thursday (3 February) to offer support to the workers.

NationalWorld spent three days with the workers and activists from the United Voices of the World trade union, to find out more about the dispute.
