Justin Trudeau and wife Sophie have announced on Instagram that they have made the decision to separate

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie have asked for privacy after revealing that they have decided to split on Instagram. Justin Trudeau married television host and former model Sophie Grégoire Trudeau in 2005. Sky News reported that ‘The pair met as children when Sophie was a classmate of his youngest brother, Michael and they reconnected as adults when they co-hosted a 2003 charity gala."

On Instagram, Justin Trudeau said: “Hi everyone, Sophie and I would like to share the fact that after many meaningful and difficult conversations, we have made the decision to separate. As always, we remain a close family with deep love and respect for each other and for everything we have built and will continue to build. For the well-being of our children, we ask that you respect our and their privacy. Thank you.”
