The family of a young girl killed by car have been left “completely broken” after the tragic incident.

Lily, 10, was walking to the park when she was struck by a yellow Audi S1 as she crossed the road in Dartford, Kent on Saturday (10 July).

The young girl was rushed to hospital via air ambulance, but sadly died as a result of her injuries the following day.

A fundraising page has been set up by a friend of Lily’s family, and has raised £3685 so far.

Nicole Lincoln, who set up the page, wrote: “Our beautiful Lily was hit in Watling on Saturday evening and passed away on the evening of Sunday. Lily was the most amazing little girl, so happy, so loving, so perfect.

“I'm setting up this page for her amazing mum, her amazing step dad and her brothers and sisters that are all completely broken

“This is to help them as a family financially as their lives are shattered

“Please donate as little or as much as you can, everything will help. Thank you.”

Call for witnesses

Kent Police are investigating the incident and have renewed a call for witnesses.

A man in his fifties was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving while impaired.

He has been bailed until August 3 pending further enquiries.

Kent Police said: "Serious collision investigators are renewing their appeal for witnesses to a fatal collision in Dartford in which a 10-year-old child died.

"Officers would like to talk to anyone who witnessed the incident, saw the pedestrian or vehicle prior to the incident, or anyone who has any dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage.

"You can call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 01622 798538 quoting reference HW/LB/60/21. You can also email [email protected]".
