Heartbroken family pay tribute to ‘smiling, beautiful’ girl, 6, who was killed after being hit by a car

The family of a six-year-old, who lost her life after being struck by a car, have paid tribute to their “always smiling, beautiful” girl.
Sharlotte Naglis and her father were hit by the car on Saturday evening at around 7.15pm while walking along Endon Road in Stoke-on-Trent.

Hide AdPolice said passers-by attempted to treat Sharlotte, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her father is being treated for injuries, while the 44-year-old driver of the car is being treated for a head injury.
Family’s tribute to Sharlotte
Sharlotte’s family said in a statement: “Sharlotte was so beautiful, full of life, always smiling, sassy, so brave and happy.
“Sharlotte just started her gymnastics classes which she loved and was shining so bright in. She was loved by everyone that met her, so caring and loving.

Hide Ad“Every night since she was born she would never sleep without holding her mum’s hand.
“There will never be another child like her for anyone who met her. She was taken so early from us and will never be forgotten.”
Police appeal for witnesses
Investigators have appealed for witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw a blue Skoda Rapid in the area to come forward.
Sergeant Rich Moors, of the Staffordshire and West Midlands Serious Collision Investigations Unit, said: “We’re continuing to investigate and understand fully what happened last night.

Hide Ad“We’d urge anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage, or who witnessed the collision, or saw a blue Skoda in the area to get in touch with us.
“Again, we’d kindly urge people not to speculate as to the circumstances.
“Sharlotte’s family are being supported by specially trained officers. Our thoughts are with them all at this time.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 101 referring to incident 716 of June 19.
