TSB online banking IT outage as customers hit with BACS issues resulting in payment delays

Users took to social media to report their issues with their online bank accounts, which have left hundreds of customer without payments hitting their accounts. One person said: “I’ve got vet bills that need paid today never mind getting food for the kids they won’t tell me anything except sorry for the inconvenience.”
Another added: “At this point, I’m going to have to borrow money because I’m overdrawn without an overdraft and need to do a food shop. Definitely closing my TSB account this week.”

Hide AdAccording to service status tracker DownDetector.co.uk, issues began overnight, with customers waking up unable to make payments. In a statement, TSB said: “Some BACS payments customers expected to receive today haven’t arrived in their accounts. We’re sorry for this and we are working on fixing it. We will provide an update as soon as possible.”
The bank also said that any customers who have been affected by the outage should contact TSB. A spokesperson for the bank added that customers who are overdrawn due to the IT issue 2will not be out of pocket” with no additional charges added to their account.
