Former Brazilian Masterchef loses about 17st in weight after changing his lifestyle
Andre Serra, 35, a former contestant on the eighth season of MasterChef Brazil, reportedly weighed nearly 200kg (440 lbs) and he has now dropped down to 91kg (200 lbs) - that’s a weight loss of about 17 stone.
He explained: "I realised that I would spend my entire life fat if I continued trying to lose in three months something that had taken me years to accumulate."

He added: "Two years ago I was close to 200kg. This week I reached my lowest weight in the last 16 years."
Posting about his achievements to inspire others, he said: " Hi, my name is Andre, I once weighed 175kg and I lost 83kg without surgery. I have been sharing my routine here until I reach my goal of 90kg and have the abdominoplasty surgery."
This is an operation that removes the excess skin after significant weight loss, particularly in obese patients. Serra stressed that he changed his perception of obesity, recognising it as a disease and understanding that changing habits should be a long-term strategy.

He said he chose to adopt a “flexible diet,” which allowed him to enjoy foods in moderation and incorporate regular exercise into his routine.

He said: “Losing weight is the consequence of this change, not the final goal."
