The film, which was released in November 2021, became the highest-grossing animated feature of 2021 - and as always Disney have produced a range of toys which young fans of the film can use to continue the joy long after the 100 feature film has ended.
What is the plot of Encanto?
Encanto tells the story of Mirabel Madrigal, who was born into a magical family where everyone has a special gift except her. She has a brother, Antonio, who can talk to animals, a sister, Isabela, who can produce flowers, and a mum who can cure illness with food.
These magical powers come from a magical candle the Madrigals call ‘our miracle’, a force that saved Mirabel’s grandmother and her three children when they were forced to flee their hometown.
The candle gave the Madrigals a home, a magical house called Casita that becomes a source of comfort for the family and all of their special gifts.
The film follows Mirabel as she sees that the house is starting to crack at the foundations, and her journey to find out what’s endangering their miracle and to protect the home that has always protected her family.
