Amazon’s cosy fleece throw is just £6.47 if you pick this colour

A cosy addition to the sofa needn’t take much out of your autumn budget, with Amazon cutting a dark grey fleece throw to just £6.47.

The MOONLIGHT20015 blanket is down from a listed previous price of £12.99, saving £6.52 in a deal advertised as 50% off. That makes it less than half its previous price, and comfortably the cheapest colour among the options shown.

The important detail is picking the right version. The £6.47 offer applies to the dark grey throw/single blanket, measuring 130cm by 150cm. Other colours cost more, even when you stick with the same size.

Baby pink, for example, is listed at £9.86, black at £9.91 and emerald at £9.92. Navy comes in at £10.97, while silver grey is £11.29. If you are more interested in getting something warm over your knees than matching a particular shade, choosing dark grey keeps another few pounds in your pocket.

At this price, it is an inexpensive way to add an extra layer for evenings in front of the television, reading on the sofa or sitting at a desk as the days get colder. The neutral colour should also be straightforward to work into plenty of living rooms and bedrooms.

The blanket is made from 100% microfibre polyester fleece, with the listing describing a 400 GSM fabric. GSM refers to the weight of the material per square metre, giving shoppers a more useful detail about the fabric than the usual promises of cosiness alone.

It also has a double-sided design intended to feel soft whichever way up you use it. Reinforced stitching around the edges is designed to help prevent fraying, while the manufacturer says the material resists shedding and fading.

At 130cm by 150cm, this is a throw-sized blanket for draping over yourself or the furniture. Check those measurements before ordering if you want something to cover a whole bed, as the listing also offers larger sizes at different prices.

For the discounted version, the appeal is having a relatively compact blanket you can leave within reach of the sofa, fold over an armchair or pack for a weekend away. It could also be a useful spare to keep in a caravan or motorhome for an extra layer on cooler evenings.

Looking after it should be fairly straightforward. The fleece throw is machine washable, with the care instructions recommending a gentle cycle with cold water and tumble drying on low. The seller advises avoiding bleach and fabric softeners.

The Amazon listing shows a 4.6-star rating from 9,752 reviews, although that displayed rating may cover several colours and sizes rather than this particular version alone.

Amazon describes the reduction as a limited-time deal. For shoppers happy with dark grey, £6.47 buys the 130cm by 150cm throw for £6.52 less than its listed previous price, making this the colour to check first if keeping the cost down is the priority.
