As the weather turns colder, I’m swapping lightweight layers for cosy clothes, and this Heat Holders loungewear set is the perfect way to stay warm at home.

There’s something about that first proper chill in the air that makes me want to spend more time at home, wrapped up in something soft and cosy.

While I’m always happy to reach for a blanket, I’ve found that having warm loungewear makes a surprisingly big difference and the Heat Holders Ladies Soul Warming Loungewear Set in Dusky Pink is exactly the sort of set I’ll want to live in as the weather gets colder.

There are lots of loungewear sets on the market, but this Heatholders one is different. It’s made from the brand’s plush heatwaver fabric, which has a soft, fur-like thermal side designed to trap warm air close to the body. That means this isn’t simply loungewear that looks cosy, it’s actually designed with unique, specialised material designed to keep you warm, as per the brand name, and it really works.

I’ve been wearing my Heat Holders loungewear set most days over the past two weeks since the temperature has dropped. In fact, the only days I haven’t worn it is when it’s been in the wash. I think I may need to purchase another set so I’ve always got a clean one ready, especially as we head into the even colder months of the year.

I must note, however, that the set is machine washable, tumble-dry safe, and very quick to line or airer dry so I never have to wait more than a few hours for my loungewear set to be fresh for me, but even so I think having a second set is a sensible option as I do also have to wait a few days for my washload to be full. As much as I love it, it’s not very economical to wash the Heat Holders loungewear set on its own.

With other loungewear sets, I’ve still had to reach for a blanket or have a hot water bottle for that feeling of true warmth and cosiness, but not with this Heat Holders set. I feel plenty warm enough once I have these on. I know the true test will come when it gets even colder, but I have a feeling this loungewear set will continue to live up to its Heat Holders name.

For me, a big plus is the dusky pink colour which I feel gives the set a softer, more feminine look than some traditional thermal clothing. At the same time, the relaxed fit is designed for comfort - but style has not been compromised for practicality or function.

The top has ruched sleeves, while the trousers have wider legs, an elasticated waist and adjustable drawstrings. There are also two pockets, which are always a must in kind of trouser item in my opinion because there’s always something I’d like to carry handsfree - usually my phone.

I particularly like that this is a matching set because even when I’m just at home I still want to feel put together, and for me matching clothing is the best way to achieve that.

The Soul Warming Loungewear Set is currently £44.99, and available in four sizes; small, medium, large and extra large.

If I wanted something I could throw over my existing pyjamas or loungewear, the Ladies Soul Warming Lounge Hoodie, which is available in black or navy blue, would be another tempting option. It’s currently reduced to £29.99 from £44.99 and has a generously fit, though it’s not oversized, a cosy hood and two pockets. It can also be worn over regular clothes when you need an extra layer around the house, of course.

I prefer clothing to be as fitted as possible, even comfy clothing, but if you do want an oversized fit, you could always go a size or two larger, and the same with the loungewear set.

At the moment, I’ve just been wearing my warming hoodie over pyjamas at night, which is when the temperatures really drop, but I already know it’s also going to replace my hoodies when the winter chill sets in and it’s pretty much cold all the time. In fact, I may have to invest in both colours.

Then there are the Ladies Original Camellia Socks, (£8.99 at the moment, down from £9.99), which I chose in Candy Pink but are available in a range of colours and patterns, which are the obvious finishing touch. They’re Heat Holders’ thickest Original socks, with a 2.3 TOG rating and an intensively brushed inner designed to help trap warm air around your feet.

I’m the person who always has cold feet, but these socks have made such a difference. I can tell how different they are to any other socks just by looking at them; they look soft and snuggly and inviting, and they’re so thick. My feet warm up within minutes of putting them on. I’m going to order even more colours.

As much as I love the warming hoodie and the socks, it’s the loungewear set that really stands out for me. As the evenings get even colder, I’d much rather have something properly designed to keep me warm than spend the next few months layering up random jumpers and blankets.

  • Please note that delivery charges may apply. Heat Holders is currently running a promotion where you can get 10% off with code,SLEEPTEMBER10 until September 16. However, this may not apply to items already discounted. Please check before you buy.

TOG24

☀️ Summer may be fading, but this deal is scorching. The TOG24 Jacinda Women’s Supersoft Jersey Playsuit has plummeted from £50 to just £8, saving shoppers £42 in a huge 84% reduction.

💗 Made mainly from soft viscose and cotton, the bright pink playsuit features an elasticated drawstring waist, back-button fastening and two handy hip pockets. It’s an easy throw-on outfit for holidays, warm weekends or getting next summer’s wardrobe sorted ludicrously early.

⚠️ The catch? Only selected sizes are still available, and an £8 clearance price is unlikely to help them hang around. Check whether your size has survived here.
