Stacey Solomon has hit out at the media over what she describes as increasingly invasive behaviour towards her and her family, claiming the level of intrusion into their private lives “should be illegal”.
Speaking to the Press Association, she explained that while she understands being photographed when out in public comes with the territory of being a celebrity, she believes the media should respect certain boundaries.
“I think for a long time in celebrity culture, there was this expectation that you put yourself in the public eye so you deserve this treatment,” she said.
“There is an unwritten understanding. If me and Joe go out in the public and there happens to be somebody there and they get a picture of us, that's fair game. That's part and parcel of this industry. We do draw the line though.”
Stacey went on to describe some of the recent media attention as “outrageous”, claiming photographers had been waiting outside her home and intruding on family occasions.
“To me that's no longer of public interest,” she said. It is weird. It's outrageous, in fact. There's no need to be followed around to family events. It should be illegal, these are kids. It's just weird.
“You pick your battles in those instances because you realise you've signed up to this – but to an extent. You feel like you're being stalked.”
The former Loose Women panellist admitted she was struggling to understand the recent increase in interest in her private life and why some members of the press felt the need to follow her family.
“I don't understand what the public interest has been lately and why they have the need to do that,” she added. “We're still navigating it, and trying to work out what we can do.”
Stacey, who also has a substantial following on Instagram, said the situation had begun to influence the way she approaches sharing content online.
The mum-of-five suggested she may need to rethink what she posts publicly if it helps protect her family's privacy and prevent further unwanted attention.
“Maybe it will make us think of things differently moving forward,” she said. “Hopefully, I'll be able to stick up for myself enough for them to stop being inappropriate. But if I need to do something to stop this happening, then I'll do it. The safety of my family comes before absolutely everything.”
Away from her television commitments, Stacey has also built a successful career as a businesswoman, influencer and brand partner.
One of her biggest business ventures is REHAB., an eco-conscious haircare and beauty brand which she joined as an investor and business partner in 2023.
Founded by best friends Vicky Ellis and Anastasia Tozer, the brand initially made its name with innovative haircare products, including its popular Dose 1.0 Hair Oil capsules and shampoo sheets and conditioner sheets.
Stacey was already a fan of the brand before deciding to invest her own money and become part of the business. Since Stacey joined the company, REHAB. has continued to expand its product offering and retail presence, including a newly launched advent calendar for 2026 and also a new hair moisturiser.
The range has also grown beyond its original haircare offering, with products spanning bodycare and skincare.
Stacey has regularly used her social media platform to share her favourite products and introduce new launches, including the brand's shampoo milk and conditioner milk, which launched in March 2026.
Her involvement with REHAB. is another example of how she has used her public profile to develop business interests alongside her television career.
Stacey first met Joe Swash in 2010 while she was competing on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! and he was presenting the show's spin-off programme.
The pair began their relationship in 2016 before getting married in 2022. They share three children together: Rex, born in 2019, Rose, born in 2021, and Belle, born in 2023.
Stacey is also mum to Zach, from her previous relationship with Dean Cox, and Leighton, whom she shares with her former fiancé Aaron Barnham. Joe also has a son, Harry, from his previous relationship with Emma Sophocleous.
The couple's family life has become a major part of their public profile through their BBC reality series, which documents everything from parenting and family activities to their busy household at Pickle Cottage.
The new series of Stacey And Joe will return to BBC One next Tuesday (November 10) at 8pm, with all episodes also available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
