Champion of Champions 2021: snooker tournament prize money, schedule, draw, tickets and how to watch on TV

The 2021 Cazoo Champion of Champions will be played this week and will see the world’s top snooker players take to the stage.

The tournament will feature 16 participants who are primarily winners of previous snooker competitions that have taken place since the 2020 Champion of Champions.

Snooker legend Ronnie O’Sullivan will be one of the main stars at the tournament along with Mark Selby, Shaun Murphy, Mark Williams, Kyren Wilson, John Higgins and Neil Robertson.

Britain’s Judd Trump recently criticised his fellow Briton, O’Sullivan, ahead of the tournament saying the 45-year-old “can’t win an event to save his life.” O’Sullivan comes into the tournament hoping to end a 15-month drought of a major title as well as endeavouring to win his fourth Champion of champions. The World number two, Trump, has warned O’Sullivan that “no-one’s that scared to play him, anyone’s game is good enough to beat him on their day. That’s what’s happened over the last year.”

Australian snooker player Neil Robertson will enter this competition fresh from his English Open triumphs which took place two weeks ago.

Nicknamed the Thunder from Down Under, Robertson also won the Champion of Champions event in 2019, beating Judd Trump 10-9 in the final.

As defending champion, he made it to the 2020 final but lost out to Mark Allen 10-6 who won the tournament for the first time.

What is the prize money for the Champion of Champions 2021 event?

The total prize fund for the tournament is £440,000. The winner will take away £150,000 and the runner-up will receive £60,000.

Losing semi-finalists will earn £30,000, group runners-up will receive £17,500 and the losing group semi finalists will take away £12,500.
