Eddie Jones’s side secured a comfortable, if scrappy win, against Australia in their last fixture and were able to take advantage of Australia’s mistakes, no matter how small.

Man of the match Freddie Steward kicked off the scoring with a try after seven minutes which then led to nearly an entire match of penalties for both sides.

Australia’s James O’Connor took five penalty kicks giving his nation their only points of the match. England were able to score two tries, courtesy of Steward and Jamie Blamire who scored in the 81st minute, as well as six penalties five of which were taken by captain Owen Farrell and the final taken by Marcus Smith.

Certain England players may look to avenge their failed Lions Tour campaign in their upcoming fixture against South Africa this weekend, while the rest of the team will hope to beat the country that stole the World Cup title away from them in 2019.

Current World Champions, South Africa have won both of their previous Autumn Nation matches.

The Springboks stole the show at Murrayfield after Scotland collapsed in the second half and took the victory 30-15.

They were also able to take a last minute victory at the Principality Stadium beating Wales 23-18 thanks to six penalties and one try scored by Malcolm Marx.

Both Owen Farrell and Jamie George have been ruled out of the upcoming fixture against South Africa.

Farrell missed the first test after testing positive for Covid-19 and has now been ruled out due to sustaining an ankle injury.

George has suffered a knee injury and now leaves the front-row exposed and in crisis.

The absence of Farrell leaves Jones with the pairing Manu Tuilagi and Henry Slade, and Marcus Smith continuing at fly-half.

Courteney Lawes will take on the Captaincy role.

Bevan Rodd, who debuted against Australia, will start, while the uncapped Harry Elrington from Gloucester has also been added to the squad.
