Cristiano Ronaldo made his second Champions League debut for Manchester United tonight as they took on Swiss champions Young Boys.
The former Juventus forward got off to a dream start early on in the first half, slotting home after an excellent cross from Bruno Fernandes fell to Ronaldo’s feet.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka was shown a straight red with ten minutes left of the first half and Young Boys piled the pressure on for the remainder of the game, equalising around the hour mark and scoring the winner with virtually the last kick of the match.
Jordan Siebatcheu’s 95th minute goal was the result of a woeful back pass from Jesse Lingard - who was brought on for Ronaldo after 72 minutes.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s substitution was met with heavy criticism on social media, especially when it was his replacement that handed Young Boys their goal.

Ronaldo ended the game with one goal, two shots on target and 85% passing accuracy. The Portuguese now needs 19 goals to become the Red Devils’ all-time top scorer in the Champions League. Can he do it?
