England boss Gareth Southgate faces a number of huge selection decisions in the coming weeks as he leads the Three Lions into a fourth major tournament since arriving in September 2016.
Southgate has a wealth of experience and young talent at his disposal, but will be forced to whittle his provisional 33-man squad down to just 26 shortly after Friday’s final warm-up friendly against England’s Euro 2016 foes Iceland.
Southgate admits that he is ‘spinning plates’ over a number of his key decisions. He said: "We understand the significance for all of the players so we're giving it the respect and attention it deserves to make fair, right decisions. Of course, it's always going to be subjective. It's not just getting the best individuals in, there's a positional element to that as well.”
The England boss continued: "We're spinning a lot of plates trying to get individuals into things, manage minutes, perform well and everything else.”
The former Middlesbrough boss named a quintet of uncapped players in his provisional squad including Jarrad Branthwaite, Curtis Jones, Jarell Quansah, Adam Wharton and James Trafford. But have they done enough to earn a place on the plane?
Here we take a look at the 10 England stars most at risk - including the seven we believe that Southgate will cut from the final squad.

5. CB: Lewis Dunk (Brighton)
Lewis Dunk has been a regular fixture for Brighton but has not been convincing in his six caps for the Three Lions particularly during the March internationals. The versatility of Joe Gomez and Ezri Konsa could give them the edge in the pecking order. | Getty Images

6. CM: Curtis Jones (Liverpool)
Curtis Jones has been in and around the Liverpool team for a number of seasons but is still waiting for his full England debut. A talented option who should get tournament experience in years to come. But the 2024 edition might come too early. | Liverpool FC via Getty Images

7. CM: James Maddison (Tottenham)
At the start of the season James Maddison was a contender for signing of the year. But his form has declined in recent months since his injury while others such as Cole Palmer have jumped ahead of him in the pecking order. | Getty Images

8. LW: Jack Grealish (Manchester City)
With just three goals and one assist in 20 Premier League appearances, Grealish may find himself at risk of missing out to some of England's more in-form players. Technically gifted and hugely creative at his best, but that may not be enough given the competition for places. | Getty Images
