England boss Gareth Southgate faces a number of huge selection decisions in the coming weeks as he leads the Three Lions into a fourth major tournament since arriving in September 2016.
Southgate has a wealth of experience and young talent at his disposal, but will be forced to whittle his provisional 33-man squad down to just 26 shortly after Friday’s final warm-up friendly against England’s Euro 2016 foes Iceland.
Southgate admits that he is ‘spinning plates’ over a number of his key decisions. He said: "We understand the significance for all of the players so we're giving it the respect and attention it deserves to make fair, right decisions. Of course, it's always going to be subjective. It's not just getting the best individuals in, there's a positional element to that as well.”
The England boss continued: "We're spinning a lot of plates trying to get individuals into things, manage minutes, perform well and everything else.”
The former Middlesbrough boss named a quintet of uncapped players in his provisional squad including Jarrad Branthwaite, Curtis Jones, Jarell Quansah, Adam Wharton and James Trafford. But have they done enough to earn a place on the plane?
Here we take a look at the 10 England stars most at risk - including the seven we believe that Southgate will cut from the final squad.

9. ST: Ivan Toney (Brentford)
With just four goals and two assists in 17 Premier League games, Toney has struggled to get up to speed since returning from his betting suspension. However, the forward did give the manager food for thought during his last international start against Belgium and does offer the team a different skillset from the bench. | Getty Images

10. LW: Anthony Gordon (Newcastle United)
Anthony Gordon has gone from strength to strength since winning the U21 European Championships as the Player of the Tournament. With 11 goals and 10 Premier League assists for Newcastle, he deserves to be in the England squad on merit. However, an ankle injury ruled him out of the Bosnia friendly and he now faces a race against time to prove his fitness. | Getty Images

11. Final verdict
We expect Gareth Southgate to drop: 1. James Trafford, 2.Lewis Dunk 3. Jarell Quansah 4. Curtis Jones 5. James Maddison 6. Jack Grealish 7. Ivan Toney | Getty Images
