Everton player suspended pending a police investigation - what the club’s statement said

An Everton footballer has been suspended by the club pending a police investigation.
The club confirmed the move in a short statement released on their official website.

Hide AdThe Toffees have not disclosed either the player’s name or the offence for which he is under investigation.
Everton’s statement
The club’s statement said: “Everton can confirm it has suspended a player pending a police investigation.
“The Club will continue to support the authorities with their inquiries and will not be making any further statement at this time.”
The club appointed Rafa Benitez as its new manager earlier in the summer, replacing Carlo Ancelotti who moved to Real Madrid.

Hide AdEverton’s squad reported for pre-season training at Finch Farm earlier this month and are due to fly out to America in the coming days to compete in the Florida Cup.
Arsenal, Inter Milan and Millonaros will also compete in the friendly competition in the US.
They will complete their pre-season with a game against Manchester United before taking on Southampton at home in their opening game of the Premier League season.
