After a brilliant double game week last time out that saw many fantasy gamers be rewarded for triple captaining Mohamed Salah, we are back with Southampton and Norwich City kicking off GW27 tonight.

Leeds United face yet another big six club tomorrow lunchtime as they look to recover following their humiliating 6-0 defeat to Liverpool, while Manchester City will take on Everton as they hope to avoid narrowing the gap between the Reds and themselves any further.

There are also a number of high scoring players absent from the Premier League this weekend due to the Carabao Cup final - so you better get thinking on who you can replace them with.

Don’t worry, we are here to help.

Captain

Bruno Fernandes

In recent seasons Bruno Fernandes was a staple in most people’s squads, however he has been poor for part of the current campaign.

The Portugal international has now scored in consecutive league fixtures for the first time this season and also claimed a vital assist in their Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid midweek.

Fernandes looks to be back in fine form and will be ready to show it off as the Red Devils host 19th place Watford.

Wout Weghorst

If you haven’t already added Wout Weghorst to your starting line-up, you probably should now.

The striker has impressed since he joined Burnley last month and the Clarets now appear to be enjoying an upturn in form.

Weghorst has a goal and two assists in five league appearances and, with a double game-week coming up for Sean Dyche’s side, could guarantee points for your team.

Both of Burnley’s opponents - Crystal Palace and Leicester - have been particularly inconsistent this season and could struggle to contain the Dutchman up top.

Raheem Sterling

Manchester City will be determined to impress against Everton this weekend following their defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, and Raheem Sterling could play an important part.

The winger bagged a hat-trick against Norwich City and also scored in their 5-0 win over Sporting Lisbon.

If Sterling starts then it wouldn’t be surprising to see him on the scoresheet.

Similarly, Riyad Mahrez is also a good choice.

Transfers in

Ben Mee/James Tarkowski

With Burnley’s improving form and their impressive defensive record, either one of these defenders would be a good addition.

The Clarets have picked up consecutive wins over Brighton and Tottenham over the last week and have conceded only two goals in their last six matches.

With Burnley set to face Crystal Palace this weekend, it wouldn’t be surprising if they managed a third clean sheet in a row.

Anthony Elanga

Anthony Elanga has been one of Manchester United’s best players in recent weeks and has scored in his last two matches in all competitions.

The Swede is likely to be one of the first names on the teamsheet at the minute and will be eager to add to his goal tally against Watford.

James Ward-Prowse

Southampton are enjoying a positive run at the minute and are unbeaten in their last four matches - claiming wins over Everton, Manchester United and Spurs and holding Man City to a draw.

With the Saints set to face Norwich City this weekend it would be surprising if they didn’t manage a few goals against the Canaries.

James Ward-Prowse has been on fire this season and you would definitely fancy your chances if Southampton can get a free-kick on the edge of the box.

The midfielder has scored six and assisted another four goals in the league this season.

Transfers out

Chelsea vs Liverpool

There are a number of players that you should remember to take out of your fantasy team this week due to the Carabao Cup final.

Chelsea are set to face Liverpool on Sunday afternoon, meaning neither side will feature in the Premier League until next weekend.

This means you will want to take out the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Thiago Silva, Mohamed Salah etc.

Allan Saint-Maximin

Allan Saint-Maximin was absent from Newcastle United’s draw with West Ham with a calf injury last time out.

The forward has been getting treatment in Monaco this week and Eddie Howe has admitted his inclusion for tomorrow’s trip to Brentford will be a ‘late call’.

He has also claimed he will not rush him back into the starting line-up if he is not fully fit.

While you may want to risk the Frenchman in your squad, it may be a safer option to bring him in for the following match against Brighton.
