Can Liverpool win the Premier League this weekend? What needs to happen for Reds to wrap up the title
With usual title challengers Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea falling by the wayside this season, Arne Slot’s side has been able to cruise towards lifting the Premier League trophy.
It’s hardly going to be an undeserved addition to the club’s trophy cabinet - they have comprehensively beaten just about every team in front of them this year, with winger Mohamed Salah being in the form of his life - scoring 27 league goals and assisting a further 18 times.

They play Leicester away on Sunday, April 20, followed by Tottenham Hotspur the following weekend. If they win both games, they will win he league at Anfield after beating Spurs, regardless of Arsenal’s results - which would no doubt delight the home crowd.
However, there is also a mathematical situation where Liverpool win the league this weekend.
If Arsenal were to lose away to Ipswich Town, and Liverpool beat Leicester, then that six-point swing is enough to secure the league. It’s unlikely that Arsenal lose to Ipswich, especially just days after eliminating Real Madrid from the Champions League, but anything is possible in football.

It would be quite a wait for Liverpool fans - the two teams don’t meet until May 11 - but your main league rivals handing you the title would be such a sweet feeling for them.
