Meanwhile, Inter are fighting it out with city rivals AC Milan at the top of the Italian Serie A and are just two points behind the league leaders with a game in hand.

The UEFA Champions League Last 16 second leg tie between Liverpool and Inter Milan will be played on Tuesday, March 8 2022.

The game, which is taking place at Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium, is scheduled for a 20:00 kick off (UK time).

The first leg of the Champions League Last 16 tie was won by Liverpool as they beat Inter 2-0 San Siro.

Robert Firmino opened the scoring in the 75th minutes before Mohamed Salah scored a crucial second for the visitors on 83 minutes.

With the away goals rule in affect, Inter will most likely need to win by three clear goals at Anfield to progress to the quarter-finals.

Elsewhere in the Champions League, Manchester City are also in action as they play the second leg of their last 16 tie against Sporting Lisbon on Wednesday, March 9.

Manchester United and Chelsea will be in action next week.

Both are at home as the Red Devils host Atletico Madrid with that tie finely poised at 1-1 after the first leg while the Blues are looking to make the most of their 2-0 win over LOSC Lille in the first leg to book their quarter final spot.
